I Am Playing a Dangerous But Lovely Game
As I write this, I am in the middle of the woods. I am only about a mile or two from the nearest building but that seems perilously far because it has been raining on and off and I am out here with all of my devices and nothing waterproof to protect them in. I have a backpack which will protect them for a bit, but the timing of its protection will depend on how heavy the rain is.
I am beneath a thick canopy of trees and every once in a while a small raindrop lands on myself or my iPad. I am mostly dry though.
It is spring so I am in shorts and a t-shirt. The rain is cool but that feels nice on my skin, which still feels hot from yesterday’s sunburn. I am overlooking a meadow with a river and the dame’s rocket flowers have just bloomed.
The birds won’t shut up. I think it is mating season for them. I also see a lot more baby bunnies this time of year around these parts, although I haven’t seen one today.
This place seems far away from my other problems. Far away from social media, an office, and bad relationships. It is quiet and peaceful. My only problem is the potentiality of the intermittent rain touching my expensive electronics. What a lovely problem to have. Nature is healing.
